Owner Manuel Bernaschek has a passion. As a piano lover who recognized the need for fine pianos in Vancouver, he founded Showcase Pianos in 2007. Showcase Pianos carries only the finest artist's instruments, highlighting world-class brands such as Fazioli, Grotrian, and Bechstein's 'W. Hoffmann' line. But it was the Fazioli piano that inspired Manuel the most. For many years there was much talk in the piano community about a man in Italy who was making the finest pianos in the world. "We kept hearing that more and more famous pianists were converting to playing on Fazioli pianos, so I really wanted to bring them here," says Manuel. He was determined to introduce one of the greatest concert grands in the world to his talented locale, handmade by world-renowned Paolo Fazioli. The German-made Grotrians are another notable draw - as are the economical 'W. Hoffmann' series by Bechstein, another performance instrument completely made in Europe. Over the past several years, Showcase Pianos has made a name for itself serving exquisite instruments of music to cherish and enjoy, with a crescendo of acclaim that resounds throughout Vancouver's most illustrious private homes and concert halls. Manuel Bernaschek is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Spanish. On most weekdays mornings he can be found at the Broadway location, and most afternoons and weekends he is at the store in Aberdeen Centre. Manuel believes strongly in his community, and is on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver International Song Institute (VISI), as well as Place Des Arts in Coquitlam, and works with the Vancouver Police Department's 'Odd Squad' Fundraiser.

Rachel Lam -- rachell@showcaseacademy.com -- (604) 270-8861 Rachel， 多倫多音樂學院、 ABRSM證書，她畢業於SFU的本科文科音樂系 -- 主修電子樂創作和世界音樂。自6歲她開始學琴，她一直分析和探討各種流派和作曲家的鋼琴作品，這算是是她的激情吧，她從青年時代便在學習不同的鋼琴教學方法，她對世界各地的教師的教法有著深厚興趣。除了彈鋼琴，Rachel也會長笛，薩克斯管，單簧管，小號和圓號。Rachel曾在國際機構執教，並與加拿大，日本和匈牙利的藝術家和教育家上演音樂劇。她指揮了在許多合唱團並且擔任演唱，也被莫斯科CEESA唱詩節邀請並且參與編舞。 她是布達佩斯的Sirens成員, 並在布達佩斯出演多次音樂會。

Jenaya Carol -- jenayac@showcaseacademy.com -- (604) 270-8861 Jenaya Carol began piano lessons at age 8 at the urgings of her performer-teacher grandfather and began teaching at age 16 when she opened a studio of her own. For years, she enjoyed teaching students of all ages and backgrounds and instructing them through private lessons, award programs, and public performances. A life-long student herself, she is a firm believer that, while hard work pays off, the best way to learn is to have fun doing it! Admittedly a perfectionist at heart, Jenaya is proud of her achievements including First-Class Honours in Grade 9 Piano and District Top Student Award in Music History 4. While accuracy and mastery are at the forefront, her philosophy is that music is also highly individual. That's why she encourages her students to develop their musical instincts and to cultivate their individual talents. Each student is encouraged to reach their full potential as artists, to cultivate a life-long love for music, and ultimately to enjoy sharing it with others. Classical music will always be her first love, but she confesses to exploring her talents in other genres such as jazz, blues and big band. In addition to teaching piano, she has worked with kids and teens in many capacities, including volunteer work at Edmonds Youth Centre and as a support worker to children with Autism and ADD. She is fluent in English and French and speaks "un poco de Espanol".

Julie Chang -- juliec@showcaseacademy.com -- (604) 270-8861 Julie Chang is Taiwanese-born piano teacher that loves accounting. Julie enjoys music theory and traveling long distances to get to work. Julie is a graduate of UBC and is currently studying accounting part time.

ANNIE PEI -- anniep@showcasepianos.com -- (604) 437-5161 Annie Pei has been playing piano since she was a young girl in China. Her love for music continued after her family immigrated to Canada. She enjoys skiing, drawing, and playing the piano for people who visit the store.

EMI CHING -- emic@showcasepianos.com -- (604) 437-5161 Emi Ching started her study of piano in Japan at the age of 5 and has loved piano ever since. Emi has been interested in the Fazioli pianos since hearing of the great popularity of Fazioli pianos in Japan. Emi is fluent in Japanese and English, and is learning Korean and Chinese. She can be found at the store in Aberdeen Centre on Mondays and Tuesdays.
